As the Construction Foreman the major responsibility of this role is for management of Construction Projects, Maintenance of Conveyor Belt and Operations. Monitoring of Safety in the Section on daily basis.
Job Description You will be responsible for effective development and maintenance of roadways/ hauling routes and civil construction within the designated mining area with a timeframe. • Scheduling of tasks and manage Construction teams. • Scheduling road maintenance activities • Directing the activities of dust control contractors • Calling out specialist expertise when problems occur • Changing plans and schedules on the shift to minimise the effect of unexpected problems • Stopping the operation if the working conditions are unsafe This role is in the Engineering Department at a C4 level reporting to the Load & Haul Operations Manager.
Qualifications • Matric/Grade 12/Standard 10 or N3 • Trade Certificate will be advantageous (Fitting, Boilermaker, Electrical) • Foreman Certificate will be advantageous • Civil Construction Certificate will be advantageous • Competent in civil construction To be successful, you will have the following experience: • At least 3 years’ experience in Construction in the Mining industry as a supervisor • Underground experience advantageous • Underground Trackless Mining experience. • Basic Computer Literacy • Driver’s license code 08 • If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Test Who We Are We aim to lead the industry by pursuing ever safer and more responsible ways of working, demonstrating integrity, and showing care and respect for people and the planet?
