About the Vacancy
The Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport is seeking applications from eligible unemployed candidates between the ages of 18 and 35 for various open positions. Competencies:
- Interest in and knowledge of the construction sector.
- Basic literacy and communication skills.
- Understanding of departmental policies and procedures.
- Willingness to commit to an 18-month contract with the National Youth Service Programme, which includes youth development activities and on-the-job practical training.
- Preference will be given to applicants who live in the vicinity or area near the project.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic tasks in the relevant trades, such as landscaping, painting, bricklaying, plastering, tiling, carpentry, fitting doors, windows, and glass, as well as plumbing and electrical work.
- Understand the importance of productivity, workplace values, citizenship, and the value of work.
